Speech & Language TherapySpeech Language Therapists work to prevent, assess, diagnose and treat speech, language, social & cognitive communication, and voice & swallowing difficulties in children and adults. These difficulties may arise from birth or emerge later on in life. The SLT works collaboratively with other professionals. Their role is to ensure functional communication across all communicative settings, according to one's potential. This may include using one's own voice to communicate, or looking into augmentative or alternative means of communication of the client.
