My name is Amy Attard. I am 18 years old and I am currently studying for a degree in Psychology (honours). Psychology holds a very special place in my heart, mostly because I believe in the value of hope and in helping plant this value in someone who needs it. I believe that when people come to therapy, they have hope in being better, in gettng through their difficulties and in sustaining their wellbeing. I believe that therapy is this hope and that through it, a lot can be achieved. I am also a big believer in destigmatising mental health and in promoting just how important mental health wellbeing is. As an intern at Polaris, I aim to see various therapeutic ways at work and to learn from them, so that one day, I will be able to do the same to others. I believe that empathy, kindness and compassion are fruitful in a client’s journey to wellness, and I firmly believe that Polaris offers just that. I am excited to start my journey and to learn about the gift of therapy and see just how much of an asset it is to our wellbeing as humans.
