Massage/ Energy Therapy. Both passions have arisen from her desire to explore the connection and interrelationship between spirit, mind and body. In order to assist others in their personal journey, Karen has spent many years and is continually delving into different therapeutic existential and experiential approaches for self-exploration, self-healing and self-becoming. She is also a certified Yoga teacher and a Meditation facilitator and finds that the knowledge and tools gained from these practices have deepened and expanded the way she delivers her services. At Polaris, Karen provides Psychotherapy sessions. She has been practicing Gestalt therapy for the past 8 years. Her style of giving involves a combination of psychotherapy, meditation and breath practices intuitively adapted to the person’s needs. She enjoys creating a space of presence and being with what is, in the here and now. Her invitation is for the client to be willingly open in the exploration and observation of oneself. This observation can invoke a deeper sense of awareness and healing, leading to an empowering, liberated state of being. Karen obtained a Bachelor of Honors in Psychology and was later trained in Gestalt Psychotherapy. During her studies, she also attained an ITEC diploma in Holistic Massage, was later certified in Reiki level 1 & 2 and completed 85 hr training in Tantric and Ayurvedic Massage. She has undertaken several trainings and workshops in psychotherapy and body-work modalities, including De-armoring techniques, such as gentle Bioenergetics, Amanae, and Rebirth massage. She was also introduced in the art of Crystal healing. She has completed the 200 hr MBY KriyaAsana Yoga Teacher training. At present she is undergoing a Meditation Teacher Training with New Humanity School.
