It’s like hitting a hundred birds with just one stone, and Meditation can be that stone if you’re trying to hit things like:
• improving focus
• being able to take executive decisions
• remembering things
• improving your posture
• becoming more in touch with your body (and as a consequence, becoming more emotionally literate)
• becoming less impulsive (meaning that you don’t automatically react to things that happen in your environment, by creating a space between your thoughts and your actions)
So one could say that meditation is kind of like a superpower! Research is showing that meditation actually does have the power to rewire your brain. It can also increase your ability to feel positive emotions such as well-being, satisfaction and joy, and it can really help with changing your life in general.
Meditation is not for everyone however, and some people may need the help of a mental health professional. If you find that it’s difficult for you to meditate, don’t push yourself too much because it can actually make some conditions worse.
